Medical marijuana still arouses much controversy due to the prevailing belief about its narcotic and addictive properties. In many cases, it is an invaluable help in relieving chronic pain, treating fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and even rheumatic diseases. What is medical marijuana and are there any contraindications to its use?
Does medical marijuana improve health?
Medical marijuana distinguished by the concentration of active substances. This means that its composition is properly defined and controlled before it is distributed. The composition includes tetrahydrocannabinol (acts on receptors in the brain, affects, among others, the reduction of pain, nausea and vomiting), cannabidiol (reduces the side effects of THC, and also relieves the feeling of anxiety) cannabigerol (anti-inflammatory), tetrahydrocannabivarin (relieves the symptoms of epilepsy) , Parkinson's disease) terpenes, as well as alkaloids and flavonoids.
The group of terpenes includes, among others, terpinolene with antibacterial and antifungal properties, limonene - antidepressant and anxiolytic, linalool - has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, pinene, which reduces the feeling of stress and also dilates the bronchi, and caryophyllene with analgesic properties. Scientific research confirms that the healing and therapeutic properties result from the proportions between THC and CBD in individual strains of marijuana. In Poland marijuana seeds can also be collected due to, among others, valuable genes, but in many countries around the world they can be cultivated to obtain a plant with numerous therapeutic properties.
Which diseases are treated with medical marijuana?
Selection of the appropriate dosage, recommendations for the variety depend on the individual needs of the patient. The use of medical marijuana is recommended for patients who are accompanied by chronic pain resulting from cancer and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as migraines, drug-resistant epilepsy, myasthenia gravis, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, autoimmune diseases, Lyme disease, bulimia, anorexia, asthma, multiple sclerosis , bipolar disorder, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder, Crohn's disease, and even glaucoma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Huntington's chorea or Tourette's syndrome.
Medical marijuana is usually administered by inhalation, by vaporization, i.e. heating the herb. Thanks to this method, no harmful substances are released, and the therapeutic ingredients enter the blood directly from the lungs. The first effects can be observed after a few minutes, and they last for several hours, depending on the selected dose. It is worth remembering that medical marijuana treatment should not be used in people suffering from hemp allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the case of arrhythmias and cardiovascular diseases, and also if there are symptoms of mania.
Medical marijuana and CBD oil
Preparations with CBD, i.e. CBD capsules or CBD oils, are produced from the so-called industrial hemp, i.e. hemp, which is legal, e.g. in Poland. Cannabidiol has been recognized by the WHO - the World Health Organization as a safe substance that does not cause addiction. Currently, CBD products are considered dietary supplements. However, they are not substitutes for medical marijuana. CBD oil helps reduce oxidative stress, reduces anxiety and allows you to fall asleep easier. Thanks to the support of the nervous system, they have a soothing effect in stressful situations. It is worth remembering that CBD oils can intensify the effects of certain medications (for example, anticoagulants), so they should not be used together. If you want to enter hemp oil CBD for everyday use, it is worth asking your doctor beforehand whether it will interfere with the effects of medications that are currently being taken by the patient.
The concept of medical marijuana really exists, and its effectiveness has been confirmed by scientific research. It is worth remembering that when using it with other drugs, you should consult your doctor beforehand. In our store you will find medical marijuana seeds. It is worth collecting valuable cannabis genes for future times, when cultivation also becomes legal in Poland!
